The ACPR Around the World


Conference on Islamic Terrorism and American Response, July 3-4, 2004, Oklahoma City, OK, USA: Dr. David Bukay presented a series of lectures on "Islamic Fanatacism: How to Cope with It" and "How to Understand the Arab-Israeli Conflict and the Palestinian Issues". Each lecture had between 100-150 participants.
 


The International Conference on Islamic Fanaticism and Latin-American Implications, September 2-4, 2003, Igazu, Northern Argentina: Dr. David Bukay presented a lecture on "Cultural Failures in Understanding Arab-Islamic Political Culture: The Latin-American Case". This conference included 150 participants from many Latin-American states, from the military, intelligence and government offices.


 
The Norwegian Israel Center (NIS) Leader Conference for Israel and Against Anti-Semitism, Oslo, Norway, November 5-6, 2002
and Bergen, November 8, 2002
: Dr. David Bukay (Dept. of Political Science, University of Haifa) represented the ACPR at these conferences. As the main invited lecturer, Dr. Bukay delivered lectures on, “The Threat of the New Anarchistic Islamic Terrorist Groups to Western World”, “Islamic Fundamentalism in the Age of bin-Laden” and “The Arab-Islamic Political Culture: Characteristics and Consequences to Understanding Middle Eastern Politics”. Participants of these seminars included Christian groups from all over Norway.


Conference on Turkish-Israeli Strategic Cooperation, Bilkent, Turkey, May 10-11, 2001: Dr. Martin Sherman (Dept. of Political Science at Tel Aviv University), led a delegation on behalf of the ACPR at the conference jointly sponsored by Bilkent University and the ACPR. Other participants on behalf of the ACPR included Dr. Daniel Pipes (Head of the Middle East Forum, Phila., PA, and Editor of the Middle East Quarterly), and Dr. Reuven Pedatzur (Dept. Political Science, Tel Aviv University, Director of the Galili Center for Strategy and National Security as well as a Defense Analyst for Ha’aretz), Shabtai Shavit (former Head of Mossad) and Allon Liel (former Director-General of Foreign Ministry). Dr. Sherman presented a lecture entitled “The Middle East Peace Process: Potential Payoffs, Pitfalls and Probabilities as well as serving as Chairman of the session on “The Impact of Turkish-Israeli Ties on the Region. He participated as well at a Round Table meeting with former Undersecretary of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Şükrü Elekdağ. 


The Information Visit of Journalists and Representatives of NGOs from Israel, Brussels, November 25-30, 2001: Col. (res.) Yoash Tsiddon-Chatto represented the ACPR at this conference where he presented his paper, “1938/9...2001/2: Different Circumstances...Same Spirit”.


Asia and the Emerging Global Order, New Delhi, India, October 2000: Dr. Martin Sherman (Dept. of Political Science at Tel Aviv University) led a delegation representing the ACPR which included Shabtai Shavit (former Head of Mossad) and MK Dr. Uzi Landau (former Head of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs Committee). This conference was held under the auspices of the ICSSR (Indian Council for Social Science Research).
 


Ballistic Missile Defense, Strasbourg, France, April 25, 2000: Arieh Stav (Director of the ACPR) appeared before a Subcommittee of the European Parliament.
