Ilan Berman
Ilan Berman is vice
president for policy at the American Foreign Policy Council in
Washington, DC. An expert on security issues in the Middle East,
Central Asia, and Russia, he has consulted for the CIA and the
Pentagon and is a frequent guest on radio and television. His writings
have appeared in The National Interest, the International
Herald Tribune, Financial Times and Middle East
Quarterly (<http://www.meforum.org/article/504>
and <http://www.meforum.org/article/614>).
He is adjunct professor at the National Defense University and editor
of the Journal of International Security Affairs.
Mr. Berman holds a Masters in International Politics from the American
University in Washington, DC and a Juris Doctorate from the Washington College
of Law. He is an adjunct professor at the American University's School of
International Service, where he teaches graduate-level courses in international
law and international security.
Mr. Berman is the author of Partnership in Transition: US-Israel
Strategic Cooperation Beyond the Cold War (Washington, DC: Jewish Institute for
National Security Affairs, 2000).
